Our History

Dytham Esq Jewellers opened in 2008 with the idea of bringing workshop knowledge and experience to the customer.  Since then we have progressed and diversified into other areas to continuely bring new and modern innovations to our customers.


In 2015 we under went a shop revamp to move forward and adapt the business.  We also rebranded and became Dytham Jewellery Designers to create a name which highlights our bespoke service.

In 2017 we became an award winner jewellery company, achieving The North of Englands Wedding Awards - best customer service for wedding Jewellery.

Our Expertise

With over two decades of experience and knowledge, expanding our skills and machinery we can offer you a service which is personal and professional. 


Our in house designer and craftsmen can guide you through all aspects of jewellery design, repair and sourcing.  We can show you different options you may never of thought possible making sure you get what you desire.

The Team

Our team is built up of six members. Andrew, our head goldsmith, who began the business back in 2008, then recruited Matthew a few months later as a bench jeweller.  Upon Jemma introducing herself in 2014 and applying her skills for her own projects it became clear to Andrew that her place was here as head designer.  Emma joined the design team in 2017 with an unusual background in surface textiles. Our latest design team member is  Helen who is a designer in training. In the workshop we have more recently gained Dean who has been a goldsmith for 20 years.


Since 2015 we have actively been spreading the word of what we do. You can catch us at various events such as upcoming wedding fairs throughout the North East.  We also sponsor such charity events as Miss Newcastle and provide donations to local charities.

Our Statement

We believe in being a bespoke jewellers not a jewellery shop which does bespoke.  We have a studio to have presence which enables us to be more open and contactable for you.  All of our materials are of the highest quality and diamonds are sourced so we knowingly don’t buy conflict diamonds.  Our metals are hallmarked where applicable and diamonds can be certified if you choose to be.  When started back in 2008 we chose to put the customer first and will endeavour to continue with this ethos.
