From Design to Proposal

Mark contacted us a few months ago with a mission to create Lynsey her perfect engagement ring. He had done a lot of research into what she wanted and he knew that it wasn't something he would find off the shelf. After searching for bespoke jewellers, he came to us with the idea he had in mind.

Creating a list of the likes and dislikes of his future wife, these were the basis to get that perfect symbol of his love for her....and that all important yes!

- Must be rose gold

- Emerald cut sapphire for the center

- princess cut diamonds either side

- not to have a fitted wedding ring

After having an in depth chat with Mark we worked out that she wanted something fairly delicate but a nice amount of show for the stones. One of the main design features that he knew Lynsey didn't want was for a fitted wedding ring. We solved this by designing a setting that was undercut so that the wedding ring would sit flush next to her engagement ring. Mark choose a traditional claw setting for the stones as he felt this would show the stones off more.

Once we had decided on the design, we then set about getting a selection of stones for Mark to view and he choose exactly which stones would go into Lynsey's ring. At the same time we were also able to create a wax example to double check he was completely happy with the design we had created together. Mark chose the most lovely sapphire that we had found him, it was a 1.30ct emerald cut and had such a vivid blue colour to it.

Next stage was for us was to make the ring in 9ct rose gold, once we had done this Mark was then able to see the ring again, he even got his mum involved in on the secret so she could see what he was up too.

With the ring now completed there was nothing left but to pop the question. Lucky Lynsey had no idea that when they went to Cyprus she would be coming back as a fiance. We would like to congratulate them both and a well done for Mark for his commitment to the perfect ring. Also a thank you from all members of staff to Mark for being a delight to work with and Lynsey for the positive feedback, it has been our pleasure.
